Privacy Notice
Updated: 18 October 2026 · Türkçe
1. Developer and Scope of this Notice
Mergey is an iOS application developed and published by an independent individual developer based in Türkiye. For purposes of Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), the data controller is the natural person who individually publishes the app. Data controller: Ferhat Tuğrul. You can contact the controller at support@mergey.tech.
This Privacy Notice explains what personal data may be processed when you use Mergey, for what purposes and by what means, when information may be shared, how long it may be retained and what rights may apply to you. Mergey does not require you to create a user account, and its core photo, video and contact organization functions are performed on the device.
2. Data Processed and On-Device Processing
If you grant Photos access, Mergey may access the iOS photo library to identify similar photos, exact duplicates, burst images, large files and other media suitable for review. Scan results, thumbnails and review choices are processed on the device and may be stored in the app's local storage.
If you enable the Contacts feature and grant permission, Mergey may access contact information to identify duplicates, prepare merge actions and create or restore local contact backups. In the Release build submitted to the App Store, photo, video and contact contents are not sent to a server operated by the developer; core scanning and organization functions are performed on the device.
If you choose to export a contact backup or other content through the iOS share sheet, you also choose the destination. The privacy terms of the service you select may then apply.
3. Permissions and Processing Purposes
- Photos permission is used to analyze the media library, present similar or duplicate content, and carry out cleanup or compression actions selected by the user.
- Contacts permission is used to review duplicate contacts, prepare merge actions, and carry out local backup or restore actions initiated by the user.
- Notification permission is requested by iOS only where a feature requires notifications. You can change permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
If you do not grant a permission, only the related feature may be unavailable. Reading this Privacy Notice or using the app does not amount to blanket consent for processing that requires a separate iOS permission or another legal basis.
4. Subscriptions, Apple and RevenueCat
Mergey Plus purchases, billing and refunds are handled through the Apple App Store. Mergey uses RevenueCat to determine current Plus entitlement, display subscription offerings, verify purchase and subscription status, and perform Restore Purchases.
For these purposes, RevenueCat may process a randomly generated App User ID, purchase history, subscription or entitlement status, transaction or receipt information, and necessary device, operating-system and app technical information. Mergey is not designed to send photo, video or contact contents to RevenueCat.
For processing subject to Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), personal data processing necessary to establish or perform the subscription service, verify an existing purchase or Plus entitlement and carry out restoration may, where applicable, rely on Article 5(2)(c), concerning processing directly related to the establishment or performance of a contract. RevenueCat describes its own processing practices in its Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.
5. Retention and International Processing
Local scan results, caches, preferences and backups created on the device may remain until removed in the app or until the app is uninstalled. Uninstalling Mergey does not automatically delete purchase or transaction records held by Apple or RevenueCat.
Apple and RevenueCat may process the technical and purchase information necessary to provide subscription services within their own infrastructure. RevenueCat infrastructure and subprocessors may be located outside Türkiye. Where personal data is transferred from Türkiye abroad, the transfer must comply with Article 9 of Law No. 6698 and any applicable lawful transfer mechanism or safeguard. RevenueCat retention and deletion periods are governed by the relevant service agreements and applicable legal obligations.
6. Your Rights and Requests
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to learn whether personal data is processed, request information about processing, learn its purpose and whether it is used consistently with that purpose, request correction or deletion, and exercise other statutory rights. Requests under Türkiye's Law No. 6698 are handled in accordance with the applicable procedures and time limits.
You may send privacy requests to support@mergey.tech. Proportionate additional information may be requested where necessary to verify your identity. Please do not send unnecessary identity documents, private photos, contact backups or payment credentials in your initial request.
If you email Mergey for support or a privacy request, your email address, message content and any files you choose to attach may be processed to answer the request, evaluate the application and, where necessary, retain a communication record.
7. Changes and Contact
This Privacy Notice may be updated when Mergey features, service providers or applicable law change. For material changes, the effective date on this page will be updated and additional in-app notice may be provided where appropriate.
For privacy questions or requests, contact support@mergey.tech.
